a virtual tree lighting ceremony
Welcome to our page for the 7th Annual Light Up A Life Event!
This event was held on December 17, 2020. All names are those which were submitted to us by their loved ones to be read aloud in memory of them during the event.
*All names read aloud may not be read in the exact order in the program listed below
This year has been unlike any other. To remember those we love gives us that spark of hope to remind us that, like the lights on the Tree of Remembrance at Hospice House; unexpected glimmers can appear even in the darkest times. Each ornament placed on the tree is a tribute to a beloved person. Their names spoken will call upon memories of them and honor their legacy. During this special virtual ceremony, Hospice House Chaplain Abby Embry will call out the names you have submitted, Heidi Crocker and Diane Schwarz will place an ornament on the tree in honor of them.

Comment here! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this moving and important ceremony of remembrance. The Hospice House was outstanding in the care and love toward our brother Peter L. Burkart and we appreciate this opportunity to continue to remember him.
Roger Allen: You always made me laugh. I miss you so much …more than I ever thought possible.
Thank you so much for doing this. It is nice to see the caring people that we came to know at Hospice House. My mother’s legacy lives on. Her grace, her laugh and word’s “it will be okay” I hold onto, especially during this pandemic.
Thank you Abby! We are so grateful for you.
Beautiful and deeply meaningful. Love to all.
Thank you Hospice House for finding a way for us to share in this 7th annual Light Up A Life ceremony.🎄 It was truly beautiful, inspiring and uplifting. HH is a Williamsburg treasure. 💝
Bob – I love you and miss you deeply. Merry Christmas – our first apart in 65 years!
Thank you so much for doing this virtual ceremony. Remembering our loved ones is so important. Marshall Conley and Walter “Topper” Franke will always be in our thoughts and hearts. i will remember their laughter, smiles and love of life.
A very touching memorial tree lighting ceremony – the comforting words by Abby, the hanging of the ornaments onto the gorgeous tree as the names were called, and the wonderful music – all very well done. Love that the tree is in the front of the House this year. Thank you Abby, Audrey, Diane and Heidi.
Thank you so much for everything! You were here for us at the end of Ted’s fight with Pancreatic Cancer when we didn’t know how to take care of him. Even with the Covid restrictions, you were warm and caring to our family and gave us a place to just BE with Ted. And when he passed, you were there by his side for me. Hospice House is a blessing! Thank you for your services and for the wonderful event tonight!
What a beautiful ceremony. I miss all of you so much, and appreciate all the effort that you put into this on behalf of our loved ones. Thank you!
