WHY HIKE FOR HOSPICE?
Hospice House & Support Care of Williamsburg provides physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support to enhance the quality of living for individuals facing the last phases of life as well as support the people that they love.
Hospice House offers services free of charge to members of the greater Williamsburg community. Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization with a mission to enhance the quality of living for individuals facing the last phases of life and to support the people they love.
The annual Hike for Hospice is a family oriented event that raises much needed funds for Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg. Hikers collect donations from sponsors for this fun event.
Services Hospice House & Support Care includes: respite and end-of-life care in a beautiful residential home away from home; respite care for home patients and support for their caregivers; bereavement support groups and individual consultations; sick room equipment and a lending library of resources available to anyone in need in the community.
There are no fees to families or charges to insurance for the services provided by Hospice House. We work collaboratively with medical providers and fill in the gaps where insurance leaves off; assuring the best possible individualized plan for end of life care. Less than 10% of our annual operating budget is funded from United Way, James City County, York County and United Way combined; the remainder is made up by the generosity of individuals, civic and religious organizations, businesses, and special events.
Your support this year will help…
…over 160 terminally ill individuals who will be admitted to Hospice House
…between 25-30 home caregivers every month who receive respite support services
…over 800 bereaved family members who will receive support services
